ROWING TASMANIA

Welcome to the Rowing Tasmania web site.

The aim of this web site is to be a means for the exchange of information within the Tasmanian rowing community. Your ideas and comments are needed to help achieve this objective, so please provide feedback by email.

Recent updates to results, news, State Development Officer notices and classified ads are listed in the panel on the right of this page. Keep an eye on it so that you are kept up to date with all that is happening in Tasmanian rowing.

Lost Oars -Update

We're pleased to advised that some of the missing oars have been found, and thank you to those who located them.
However, one sculling blade is still missing. It was misplaced at the Schools Championships regatta and is marked Nic Edmondson.
Please contact Tony Edmondson on 0448 839 315 if you can help locate it.

State Development Officer - North and South!

Many of you in the rowing community would already be aware of the exciting news regarding the State Development officer role.

Following a proposal from the TIS, Anthony Edwards will now split his time between being a part time TIS coach and his employment as SDO. Eddy will now be primarily based in the South, visiting clubs and schools and fulfilling the many other tasks he performs. He will apportion his time equally between working with Brett Crowe (TIS Head Coach) and RT.

Eddy will regularly be traveling to the north with the TIS and will be co-coordinating those trips north to liaise with our newly appointed northern DO and will hope to spend some time with clubs and schools.

Rowing Tasmania is pleased to advise that Rob Prescott has been appointed to the position of Northern DO. Rob will be responsible for the NW Coast and Launceston regions. Rob brings great passion and skills to his new job and will be pleased to meet with and work with all of our northern constituents. Rob has hit the ground running and has already been very visible around many northern sheds.

Rowing Tasmania is delighted with this new agreement; we believe that all clubs, schools and rowers across Tasmania will benefit from far better coverage under this arrangement.

For requests or queries of our two development officers they can be contacted on;

Eddy (South)  0417133465

Rob (North)    0418 130758

Any queries, please contact me on 0417 395584

They make mention of the need to make new coaches and boat drivers aware of the requirements and ask that this information be distributed widely through the rowing community.
The letter to Rowing Tasmania and the Notice are attached (both PDF format).
