Welcome to the Rowing Tasmania web site.

The aim of this web site is to be a means for the exchange of information within the Tasmanian rowing community. Your ideas and comments are needed to help achieve this objective, so please provide feedback by email.

Recent updates to results, news, State Development Officer notices and classified ads are listed in the panel on the right of this page. Keep an eye on it so that you are kept up to date with all that is happening in Tasmanian rowing.

ROWING TASMANIA - 2009/10 REGATTAS

This season's entry forms, draws, programs and results will be available from the Regattas page. The archive list has also been extended to include results from the 2006/07 to the 2008/09 seasons.

2010 Tasmanian Rowing Presidents' Forum

Rowing Tasmania invites Presidents of all rowing clubs and school rowing programs to a Presidents'Forum.

Rowing Tasmania strongly recommends and welcomes the participation by the Presidents of each club and school rowing organisation plus one other (only one other) school/club appointed representative from each organisation

The Forums will have three main purposes

  1. To give the President of Rowing Tasmanian the opportunity to share with club/ school Presidents new initiatives and future plans for the Tasmanian Rowing community.
  2. An opportunity for Rowing Tasmania to effectively communicate the challenges and opportunities faced in the administration and conduct of the sport.
  3. To give Presidents and club/school representatives the opportunity to share with Rowing Tasmania their ideas and thoughts and feedback on how best to deal with identified challenges and opportunities.

To help ensure full representation from all clubs across the state, forums will be convened in Launceston and Hobart.

* Please note. The Rowing Tasmania 2010 Annual General Meeting will commence at 8:00pm after the Hobart Forum. Forum attendees are encouraged to attend the AGM

Tasmanian Schools Rowing Association - Annual General Meeting

Please note that the AGM for the Tasmanian Schools Rowing Association will be held at the Launceston Church Grammar School at 10.00am on Saturday 14th August 2010 . Any proposed Constitution and By-Law alterations should be forwarded to the Secretary at
27 Arthur Street, West Hobart, Tas 7000  no later than the 31st July 2010. The agenda for the meeting will follow after that date.

Other matters which you may wish to refer to the President should be mailed to David Williams, 11 Nicholas Drive, Kingston Beach, Tas 7050 or to the Treasurer:  Rod Dolbel,
45 West Gawler Road, Gawler, Tas 7315.

Please also note that as per Section 24 of the Constitution, nominations for officers of the Association should be received by the Secretary appropriately signed by Wednesday 4th August.  All current officers are eligible for re-election. If insufficient nominations are received by the due date, then those nominated are taken to be elected and further nominations may be received at the AGM.

Lunch at 12.00 noon will again be provided by the Launceston Church Grammar School for those wishing to stay on after the meeting. Please advise if you intend to stay for lunch so that the catering staff can plan accordingly.

2010 Rowing Australia Education and Coaching Conference

Plans for the 2010 Rowing Australia Education & Coaching Conference are now in full swing! Delegate registration is now open at $499 - a substantially reduced price from previous years.
The conference will be held at the AIS in Canberra from December 3 to 5.

 

All Conference information is available on the Rowing Australia website - http://www.rowingaustralia.com.au/cc2010.html - and more information will be added as it becomes available.
