Welcome to the Rowing Tasmania web site.

The aim of this web site is to be a means for the exchange of information within the Tasmanian rowing community. Your ideas and comments are needed to help achieve this objective, so please provide feedback by email.

Recent updates to results, news, State Development Officer notices and classified ads are listed in the panel on the right of this page. Keep an eye on it so that you are kept up to date with all that is happening in Tasmanian rowing.

Fun Doubles Races at State Pennant 6

Rowing Tasmania will be hosting a 2X Fun Race over 500 metres on Saturday Evening at State Pennant Regatta No 6.

The idea is for crews to arrive on the start line and we'll just send them away as they arrive. Racing will start 15 minutes to 1/2 hour after last event on Saturday calendar.

  1. 500m;
  2. No entries, lane numbers or pre-set lane allocations;
  3. No finish places or times: just the hooter;
  4. All in together: men, women and mixed;
  5. Allocate lanes as they arrive;
  6. 5 min (less if safe) starts; and
  7. Encourage lots of cheering, hooting etc.

MAST Boating requirements

Logo: Marine and Safety TasmaniaMAST has written to Rowing Tasmania about the requirements for safety equipment and lighting on coaches' boats and rowing craft. They make mention of the need to make new coaches and boat drivers aware of the requirements and ask that this information be distributed widely through the rowing community.
The letter to Rowing Tasmania and the Notice are attached (both PDF format).

 
This site provides regatta information in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) format. The Adobe Reader software can be downloaded from the Adobe website. For those who don't have Microsoft Office installed, OpenOffice can be downloaded for free and will open Word and Excel files.
